How to fix an interior door so it shuts tight?

When I close one of my bedroom doors, the door knob doesn’t latch. I replaced the door knob hoping that it would work, but it didn’t. Any suggestions on to fix this problem?
It looks like the latch does align with the catch. There is no gaps in the door and in high humity when the wood swells, we would have to pull the door hard in order for it to latch.

You need to adjust the strike plate, so when you shut the door it will be tight up against the stop
